lyrics
I've only been able to fail
in the mirror my past is a stain
I've only been able to fail
and the future I see is the same
I've only been collecting scars
each day passing leaves a new mark
I've only been collecting scars
so I can remember it all
I've been hiding behind walls
that I have built for myself
but there's not a single stone here
I haven't scraped with my nails
One hundred times more sweat
One hundred times more weight
While my shoulders
Did not become wider
See the marks on our feet
All the marks on our hands
Those reminders
I'd like to flee
Your head was high above
but always to bends down to
remind me
These scars you gave me
are landmarks to find me
and crush me

Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74

The album description mentions an “emotional apex.” That’s really the difference between Stare and the band’s previous albums. Ulcerate was always supremely technically proficient. I just didn’t care all that much. Their growth has come from making music you will feel. Metallurgical Fire
On their incredible new album, Swiss group Abraham deliver a relentless assault of punishing noise rock, eight tracks of primal fury. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 26, 2022

The immeasurable bleakness and the great ambience stayed as the backbone of Throane. What shows the development from the predecessor to this one is the impressively improved sense for dynamics. Also, the vocals can contribute much more to the emotions evoked. And it's very heavy. I recommend listening to this on some good headphones and quite loud. That's the way I found it most shattering. mourner
